About Coach Kelley

James (Jim) Kelley was born in Illinois and graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1971, with a major in Accountancy. He began his professional career in public accounting, at Delloite & Touche in 1971 and moved to audit and EDP audit staff at Ernst & Young in 1974. In 1978, he left public accounting and assumed the Controllership role of Henry Pratt Company, then a publicly held corporation, subsequently sold to AMSTED Industries, Inc. He moved to The Hedman Company and assumed the newly created role of Vice President of Finance. Since then, he has served in several roles of increasing responsibility, starting as Vice President of Finance, promoted to Vice President of Finance and Administration, given the added role of Chief Financial Officer, and then promoted to Vice President of Finance and Operations and Chief Financial Officer.

On March 1, 1997, Jim was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Hedman Company in Elk Grove Village, IL. He manages the entire facility and its daily operations.

Jim resides in Glen Ellyn, IL with his wife and family. He currently sits on the Board of the Northern Illinois University Executive Club, and serves as Chair of the Scholarship Committee. He previously held positions as Vice President and Director of the Illinois CPA Society, and served and chaired several of its committees over the years. He is also past-Chair of the Greater O’Hare Association of Commerce and Industry, and has chaired and served on several of its committees over the years. He was a founding Director of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce. He was a Cub Scout Leader for four years, and has volunteered for several church related activities.

Jim began as a coaching client himself in 1999. The transformation in his life led him to begin coaching in 2002. He was inspired to obtain the necessary education and experience to become a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach in 2004. Jim’s clients have included business owners, not-for-profit directors and managers, people wanting to enhance their careers, students, individuals wanting to change their lives and others that wanted to live a more fulfilling and complete life.
